Principal Physiotherapist

joanne-biopic-200Joanne Waller has been a physiotherapist for 30 years.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Queensland in 1982.

After graduating, Joanne worked for 18 months with disabled children at the Endeavour Foundation in Rockhampton, Central Queensland. She then moved to general hospital work at Rockhampton Base Hospital for the next 2 years. From there she moved to Nambucca Heads and worked full time at Autumn Lodge retirement village for 2.5 years.

Following this, Joanne moved into private practice, working in both Macksville and Nambucca Heads. She also did locum physiotherapy work in the district, in Coffs Harbour, Kempsey, and South West Rocks. In 1993 Joanne and Chris set up the Stuarts Point Physiotherapy Centre, and in 1994 purchased the Nambucca Heads Physiotherapy Practice. Joanne has been a clinical educator for physiotherapy students from the University of Newcastle since 2002.

Joanne Waller is a member of the APA ( Australian Physiotherapy Association), and the PBA ( Physiotherapy Business Australia)

She is motivated in helping people to rehabilitate from their injuries, be it work-related, motor vehicle trauma or lifestyle incidents, and to assist with 're-activation' if full recovery is not possible from one's injuries or disease process.

With an ageing population, Joanne has an interst in providing skills to help reduce falls, manage balance problems, and stay well into older age.

Her other interests include the management of chronic pain, back pain and dysfunction and hydrotherapy.

In her non physio life Joanne enjoys her family, being an active member in the Nambucca District Band and playing the euphonium, as well as bush and beach walking, camping and reading.
